Description
Ömer Özkan is a name who has achieved many successes and firsts at the national and international level, such as the first uterus transplant in the world and the first double arm transplant in Turkey. He started his education life in Ankara, and after graduating from Ankara Cumhuriyet High School in 1988, he received his medical education at Hacettepe University. Having received the title of medical doctor in 1995, Özkan received his specialty training in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine. Özkan, who started to work at Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine after 2001, continued to work in different fields of microsurgery in some of the world’s leading centers. In Japan, in the field of Perforator Flaps and Supermicrosurgery, in Taiwan I/Shou University, E-Da Hospital in the field of Plastic surgery and hand surgery, in Germany Munich, Bogenhausen Technical University in the field of general microsurgery with EURAPS Young Plastic Surgeons scholarship. did fellowship. Özkan, who became an assistant professor in 2004, was awarded the title of associate professor in 2006. Some of the awards received by Ömer Özkan are the Akdeniz University Encouragement Award in 2007, the ATSO Scientist of the Year award in 2010, and the Ministry of Health Doctor of the Year Award in 2011.
