Ömer Özkan is a name who has achieved many successes and firsts at the national and international level, such as the first uterus transplant in the world and the first double arm transplant in Turkey. He started his education life in Ankara, and after graduating from Ankara Cumhuriyet High School in 1988, he received his medical education at Hacettepe University. Having received the title of medical doctor in 1995, Özkan received his specialty training in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine. Özkan, who started to work at Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine after 2001, continued to work in different fields of microsurgery in some of the world’s leading centers.
